Mekkafood nominated for Innovation Award 2009
The competition was stiff but the decision was clear: Mekkafood's new frikandel has been nominated for the Horecava Innovation Award 2009. A total of 120 manufacturers submitted their products in the hope that they would be nominated for this prestigious award. Only 16 of them made it through the four categories, with Mekkafood at the top of the Food and Beverage category.
“This is an entirely Dutch product that is now available to everybody. Its 100% halal ingredients also mean that it has a low fat content. The frikandels made by Mekkafood have a good bite and they taste delicious. This product not only attracts new target groups, but also offers the doner snackbars something new in their product range”, at least according to the jury.
This delicious, 100% halal frikandel, is made from chicken and beef, and is suitable for every critical consumer in our multicultural and modern society, due to its first-class ingredients and fresh herbs. This new Mekkafood product is excellent, and forms a healthier choice than standard frikandel products. With just 10.4% fat, the fat content is reduced by around 50%, compared to its standard competitors.
Mekkafood has its own corporate stand (03.226) at the Horecava fair, to be held in Amsterdam from 12-15 January 2009. Mr René van Appeldorn will be available as contact person to brief the press and general public. This international catering fair is open daily from 11am to 6pm.
