Mekkafood opens new production facility and presents the latest MEGA products

Mekkafood opens its new, hyper-modern production facility in April. This well-known specialist (since 1993) of halal frozen products now has a new production facility in the Dutch town of Venlo, in addition to its head offices in Nettetal-Kaldenkirchen. Mekkafood is also taking this opportunity to launch its latest products: the innovative Lahmacun (Turkish pizza) and the mincemeat-filled Pide.

Mekkafood feels right at home in the German-Dutch border area. In addition to the central (Mekkafood GmbH & Co.KG) in the German Nettetal-Kaldenkirchen, the innovative food manufacturer Mekkafood Halal Productie B.V. is now also opening a production facility in the Dutch town of Venlo (Huiskensstraat 50, 5916 PN). This 3500 m2 building and production complex has been completed in just six months. At the request of our clients, four hyper-modern individual and exclusive production lines have been installed, that are currently capable of producing 15,000 pizzas per hour. The new production facility, which includes exhibition areas and a canteen, has a staff of 40 people.

Both Mekkafood production locations guarantee efficient and transparent processing. The company's considerable flexibility, efficient logistics, fast delivery times, plus delivery to clients in its own cooled trucks, ensure Mekkafood's success. Continuing research and further development mean that Mekkafood always supplies the latest food trends, such as Lahmacun.

Lahmacun, also known as Turkish pizza, is a typical regional dish from Anatolia. It has a thin, flat doughy base, which is crisply baked and covered in a spicy ragout made from meat, onions and tomato sauce. It's absolutely delicious! Lahmacun comes in a pack of three, at 150 grams each.

Lahmacun can be eaten as pizza or as a filled wrap. It is traditionally served with parsley, slices of onion and a piece of lemon – the Lahmacun is sprinkled with lemon juice, but also takes good with Bul Biber (pieces of paprika), spiced well and eaten in your hand. A mixed salad, which is also roled into the pizza, or tzatziki, are also popular favourites.
