Köfte with Turkish rice


1 box of Mekkafood köfte

3 tablespoons sunflower oil
1 tablespoon butter
2 cups rice
2 cups boiled water
3 tablespoons şehriye (orzo or vermicelli)
1 teaspoon salt
  1. Heat your butter in a pan over a low heat. Add your vermicelli to the pan and stir around for a few minutes until it gets a brown colour.
  2. Add your cups of rice and continue to stir. 
  3. Add the butter and salt.
  4. Add the water.
  5.  Turn up the heat and bring the rice to boil. Once the rice is boiling, give it a couple of stirs and reduce the heat to low.
  6. Prepare the köfte as recommended on the box.
  7. Leave your rice to simmer for 8-10 minutes with the lid on until the water absorbed.
  8. Fork through your rice before serving. 
  9. Serve the rice with the köfte and a salade on the side!
